We aim to provide a setting in which children can grow and develop at their own pace within a structured day.
We promote equality of opportunity and inform through play to achieve healthy balanced personalities and successes. By our example we hope to demonstrate tolerance, consideration and co-operation with each other and our surroundings.
We aim to provide a partnership between parents, children, staff and committee to strive for and achieve high expectations, but most of all we look to provide a happy experience where children are offered lots of opportunity to 'chuckle'.
Chuckleberries opened in September 2003 following the closure of a previous setting. We operate from Bury Village hall which provides a rural, spacious, flexible and light setting right next door to the Village Green. The green is equipped with modern well maintained play equipment in a large secure grass area. We are currently developing what will become an excellent free-flow outdoor area, pretty much an extension of what we do inside to the outdoors.
Chuckleberries is committed to providing a fully accessible environment which values and includes all children, staff, parents, carers and visitors regardless of their education, physical, sensory, social, spiritual, emotional or cultural needs.
We are committed to challenging negative attitudes about disability and accessibility and to developing a culture of awareness, tolerance and inclusion.
With regards to accessibility Chuckleberries plans, over time and as funds allow, to increase the accessibility of provision for all children, staff and visitors to the setting.
Improvements will be made in relation to access to the physical environment, increased access to the curriculum and in improving the delivery of written information to children, staff, parents, carers and visitors with disabilities
Although we obviously prefer to know that you are coming to visit us (especially as we may be out on a walk) we do operate an open-door policy to encourage any current or prospective parents to visit us during session time and get a feel of what we do.
Here are but a few reasons we believe offer exceptional benefits...
For detailed information on specific day availability please contact our admissions secretary who will be happy to help. We actively encourage visits prior to and during the time your child is with us.
All childen are entitled to sessional payments for pre-school fees (we do the paperwork for you!), from the term following the child's third birthday. For the purposes of all unfunded sessions and holiday club sessions our current fees are available in the prospectus or by request. Fees are payable at the beginning of each half term, in advance.
During the school holiday periods we operate several three day weeks, from 9am to 1pm. These are open to any child aged 2 to 5. You do not need to be registered with us on a normal basis to make use of the holiday club. Please contact us for further information, currently Nikki, our Deputy Supervisor, looks after this area.
