Currently we are collecting both the Tesco and Sainsbury's vouchers we will gratefully receive any spare that you have.
We have one big project lined up for the coming months; the introduction of Forest School. The forest school approach demands that the outside space is not seen as merely a place where children go to burn off energy. The divide between indoors and outdoors is broken and children learn in and from nature. They are given freedom to direct their own learning and enter in to a certain amount of ‘risky-play’. This in turn increases their sense of engagement and motivation. The rich variety of activities on offer and the sense of independence can have very positive effects on a child’s intellectual, cognitive, physical and emotional development. It can help to build a child’s self-esteem and confidence whilst also providing a springboard for numerous academic pursuits touching upon every area of learning.a free-flow play and sensory garden plus a renewal or improvement on our current facilities and equipment. We hope to bring the latest information on both of these together with any pictures as soon as is possible.
Currently we plan on doing one big trip each year which will be of an educational and or family nature e.g. a farm visit to see how and where animals live. Inevitably we will do some unplanned activities, and will try to keep everyone up to speed as soon as possible.
We are working on plans to include external professionals visiting at least once a month for music, dance, a foreign language or drama.
