The staff : Chuckleberries is run by a voluntary management committee which employs not only experienced and qualified staff, but staff with particularly warm and friendly natures to care for each child sensitively and positively. Our Supervisor,
Jo Kent, has 7 years experience as a professional Ofsted registered childminder and brings warmth and fun to the setting. Working with
Jo is Nikki Duquenoy. Nikki is qualified to NVQ Level III with Montessori (in house) training and has been working for the last
5½ years at a day nursery in Midhurst, with the last 3½ years as a supervisory position.
Parents are welcome to participate in the operation of the pre-school as much as possible. After a suitable timescale Chuckleberries will be applying for Kitemark status.
The children : Children are welcomed into Chuckleberries Pre-School at any time from the age of 2½, whether they be fully toilet trained or not, for any number of sessions, but with a minimum of two per week. However, if a child is ready for pre-school, they are welcome to start at any time during the term in which they become 2½ years old. Each child is nurtured as an individual and gently encouraged to develop social skills within a warm and friendly environment, with good manners and acceptable behaviour being actively reinforced. Strong links with local schools assist in the overall preparation for entry to primary school. Parents are welcome to stay with their child for as long as necessary until they feel happy to leave.
